Client: The Green Trails
Where: Stockholm, Sweden
When: September 2017
As an avid lover of the sea I jumped at the chance to board a small sailing boat just outside Stockholm and sail through the seemingly unexplored Archipelago.
After battling rough seas I was rewarded by 23,000 pine covered islands. That was my kind of perfection.
Even after several weeks of pre-production and shoot preparation I was completely stunned by the beauty of this place.
After being pickup by Peiter, The Green Trails' owner, we drove through the south of Sweden to the ocean, and to the boat that would be our home for the next 9 hours.
Peter, the owner and founder of The Green Trails, moved to Sweden from the Netherlands to pursue his dream of running an outdoor adventure company in the wilderness. He is maybe one of the nicest people I have ever worked with.
The Swedish forest is a beautiful and unique place. And one 23,000 islands there are plenty of places to find space to be alone.
If there is one thing that I learned from this experience, it's of the importance of nature. I have fallen in love with Swedish forrest all over again.
